Micky Peters joined Van Benthem & Keulen as a lawyer in the Banking & Finance practice group in October 2020. Micky specialises in financial law and (international) financing.

In the field of financial law, Micky mainly advises clients on compliance with financial supervisory obligations. This includes advice on compliance when marketing financial products, application issues and (special) duties of care. 

In the field of financing, Micky's work includes assisting in financial transactions and drafting and negotiating financing documentation.

Micky's clients include domestic and foreign banks, insurers, payment institutions and financial services companies. Micky also advises unregulated companies. Think, for example, of companies in the leasing, real estate and telecoms sectors. 

What sets Micky apart as a lawyer is that she provides hands-on advice. Her knowledge in both financial law and finance allows Micky to look at an issue from several angles.

Expertise

  • Financial supervisory legislation (Wft and European regulations such as CCD, AIFMD and IDD);
  • Anti-money laundering regulations (Wwft and Sanctions Act)
  • Duty of care issues at financial institutions
  • Application issues in companies affecting financial law (including leasing and telecoms)
  • Drafting and negotiating credit agreements (including in the sustainability sector)
  • Drafting and negotiating various security documents (pledge and mortgage rights, sureties, guarantees, etc.)
  • Advising on a wide range of funding and related issues
  • Advising on enforcement of collateral or prevention thereof

About Micky Peters

Micky received her law degree from Radboud University Nijmegen. In 2019, she completed the Master's in Corporate Law cum laude.

Micky previously worked as a legal assistant at Van Benthem & Keulen.

Micky is a member of the Central Netherlands Young Bar Association.
