Ilse Bakker
Ilse Bakker has been working as a lawyer in the Commercial Contracting & Dispute Resolution and Construction Law practice groups since 2012 and as counsel at Van Benthem & Keulen since Janaury 2025. Ilse’s expertise is: liability law, law of civil procedure, contract law and dispute resolution. Ilse is also part of Van Benthem & Keulen's ESG team.
In recent years Ilse has been seconded several times to various companies, where she acted as an oracle and advisor to the management and other stakeholders within the organisation.
In addition to her work as a lawyer, Ilse is also a deputy judge at the Amsterdam District Court.
What distinguishes Ilse as a lawyer is that she always looks for creative and practical solutions tailored to the individual position and wishes of her clients.

About Ilse Bakker
Ilse obtained her master's degree in Private Law at Utrecht University. In addition to the regular master's programme, Ilse followed the Excellent Master route (plus programme). During her studies, Ilse's work included working at the Rechtswinkel Utrecht legal advice centre.
Ilse completed her Mediation Training in 2019.
Ilse also publishes regular articles in Bedrijfsjuridische Berichten (Company Law News) and is a member of the Dutch Association for Procedural Law (NVvP).
Besides her work, Ilse also acts as a mediator for Utrecht Community Mediation, where she helps neighbours get out of (imminent) conflict situations.
