Van Benthem & Keulen Lawyers and Notarial Practice appoints 2 new equity partners with effect from 1 January 2020

Petra klein Gunnewiek (1980) will be appointed equity partner with effect from 1 January 2020. Petra is head of the Liability & Insurance practice group and she specialises in personal injury law, focusing especially on medical liability, employer liability and traffic liability. Petra co-leads Van Benthem & Keulen’s healthcare team together with Wouter Koelewijn. The team of eight specialised lawyers, which will expand further in 2020, assists healthcare providers and governments in all legal issues within the healthcare and social domain.

Mervyn Odink (1973) will be appointed equity partner with effect from 1 January 2020. Since 2016 Mervyn has led the Real Estate civil-law notaries department. He focuses on property transactions and assists clients in concluding a letter of intent, negotiations on the purchase agreement and ultimately the signing of the deed of transfer. One of Mervyn’s strong points is the legal content of property transactions (purchase and sale). Mervyn also specialises in the VAT and transfer tax aspects of property. In addition to major property transactions, Mervyn’s team focuses on redevelopments and the establishment of rights of superficies for energy projects and is also involved in various major refinancing projects.
