Van Benthem & Keulen appoints two new equity partners with effect from 1 January 2022

Van Benthem & Keulen is appointing Mariska Nijenhof-Wolters and Martijn van Steensel as equity partners with effect from 1 January 2022.
On 1 January 2022, Mariska Nijenhof-Wolters (1983) will be appointed as an equity partner. Mariska heads the Commercial Contracting team within the Commercial Contracting & Dispute Resolution practice group and is an expert in commercial contract law. She specialises in agency, distribution and franchise agreements with a strong focus on the retail sector. Mariska is the chair of the Retail sector team within Van Benthem & Keulen and is a member of the Association for Distribution, Franchise and Agency Law. She frequently acts as a peer supervision (Intervision) moderator and is listed in the Peer Supervision Moderators Register of the Dutch Bar Association. Mariska is a regular contributor to the ‘Bedrijfsjuridische Berichten’ (Corporate Law News) and an editor of ‘Tijdschrift Conflict Hantering’, a magazine about conflicts.
On 1 January 2022, Martijn van Steensel (1982) will be appointed as an equity partner. Martijn is part of the Notarial Company Law team concentrating on the profit sector. He assists medium-sized and large companies with issues such as governance, restructuring and transactions with a focus on drafting the articles and charters of and governance within commercial associations, cooperatives, mutual insurance associations and foundations (in particular foundations with a fiduciary role). Martijn is also a teacher of the professional course for notaries, where he gives lectures on the aforesaid topics. Martijn also frequently publishes articles about these topics.
