

Rogier Simons
Rogier Simons has been working as a lawyer at Van Benthem & Keulen in the Healthcare & Social domain team since August 2024.
In 2021, Rogier completed the master's degree in health law at the University of Amsterdam, after which he started a PhD at AmsterdamUMC. His research deals with the legal aspects of vaccination, focusing on coercive and coercive application in vaccination policy. In 2023, Rogier joined Van Benthem & Keulen as a professional support laywer.
Rogier specialises in health law and holds deals with issues and disputes regarding cooperation in healthcare (conflicts between healthcare providers), supervision and enforcement (processes with the Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate (IGJ) and the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa)), healthcare contracting and regulation.
Rogier also advises healthcare institutions on general health law issues, following from care-specific legislation (WGBO, BIG Act, Wkkgz).

About Rogier Simons
Rogier is a member of the Health Law Association, the Central Netherlands Young Bar Association and teaches health law at the Faculty of Medicine (AmsterdamUMC) and the Faculty of Law (University of Amsterdam). Rogier is also involved as a researcher in the third evaluation of the Individual Healthcare Professions Act, disciplinary law. Rogier regularly publishes scientific articles in the field of health law. Furthermore, Rogier is co-author of the Handbook of Health Law and the Basic Book of Ethics and Law in Health Care.
