Lawyer | Partner Commercial Real Estate and Commercial Tenancy Law

Justine van Lochem has been a lawyer and partner at Van Benthem & Keulen since 2023 within the Commercial Property and Tenancy Law teams, which she heads. She specialises in rental law, both with regard to the rental law of business premises and residential premises. Justine also advises and litigates in the field of contract law and property law on property-related issues.

Justine has the talent to explain matters clearly and regularly uses her powers of persuasion, during hearings and discussions, but also in the lecture room.

Justine has been practising as a lawyer since 2006. In 2019, Justine received her PhD from Utrecht University with the thesis 'Open standards in tenancy law: Space versus legal certainty'.

In addition to her work as a lawyer and partner at Van Benthem & Keulen, Justine has been an associate professor of Tenancy Law at the University of Groningen since 2020. This is a chair of the Association of Tenancy Lawyers (Vereniging van Huurrecht Advocaten (VHA)).
