Van Benthem & Keulen strengthens its Banking & Finance team with the arrival of Merle de Vries

On 1 November 2025, Merle de Vries joined Van Benthem & Keulen as a lawyer within the Banking & Finance team.

Merle has been working as a lawyer since 2018. Before joining Van Benthem & Keulen, she worked at NautaDutilh as a lawyer specialising in financial regulatory law and financial dispute resolution. 

Merle specialises in (non)contractual duty of care, financial regulatory law and insurance law. She advises and litigates on matters such as the duty of care, market access, scoping and insurance policies. Her clients mainly include financial institutions, such as banks, insurers and payment institutions. Merle brings valuable practical experience thanks to various secondments with clients.
