Van Benthem & Keulen will be known as VBK

A new name, same level of commitment

From 23 April 2026, we will be operating under the name VBK. With this new name and brand positioning, ‘VBK: partner in progress’, we are marking the next step in the development of our legal services.

Why this step?

Social and technological developments are making legal issues more complex and are presenting businesses, public authorities and civil society organisations with significant challenges in achieving their objectives. This calls for a law firm that thinks strategically and continually adapts its services to these changes.

Strategic development

VBK partner in progress

With our new name and brand positioning 'VBK partner in progress', we will continue to develop this further in the coming years. We have adopted an approach in which sharp legal insight and a deep understanding of our clients’ interests and objectives are inextricably linked, and we are giving a sharper and more contemporary form to what has been the foundation of our firm for 85 years: legal expertise and genuine commitment to our clients’ organisations.

Investing in our people

As we continue to develop our services, we are making clear choices. First, we are placing even greater emphasis on our people. Their role as strategic partners and their understanding of the client’s context are becoming even more important. Therefore, we will  be making additional investments in our VBK Academy over the coming years. In addition, we are deepening our understanding of our sectors and will continue to share our knowledge in innovative ways, to stay connected with our clients’ world. Finally, we are making targeted investments in attracting and training talent that embraces this future-oriented way of working.

Strengthened by technology

In addition to strategic and specialist knowledge, we will be investing heavily in AI technology and our IT infrastructure. AI technology enables us to further improve our services and, at the same time, transforms our role as lawyers and notaries: from purely legal experts to partners who combine technology and expertise to better support our clients. We embrace the new possibilities offered by technology, convinced that it helps us fulfil our role as strategic partners even more effectively.

Frequently asked questions

About the rebranding to VBK

Why is the brandname Van Benthem & Keulen adapted to VBK?

The name VBK marks the next step in our firm’s development. The world is changing rapidly, and legal issues are increasingly impacting organisations’ strategies. With this shorter, more impactful name and a refined positioning, we are demonstrating that we progressing, whilst our way of working remains familiar.

Will there be any changes to the services we provide or to our working relationship?

No. Our services, quality and commitment remain unchanged. You will continue to work with the same team and can count on the same expertise and personal attention. What is changing, however, is that we are placing even greater emphasis on strategic partnership and facing the future, in line with our brand promise: VBK partner in progress.

Will contracts, agreements and ongoing cases remain valid?

Yes. The name change will not affect existing contracts, agreements or ongoing cases. Our registered name remains: Van Benthem & Keulen B.V.

Will there be any changes to the way I communicate with VBK?

Nothing will change in terms of how you contact us; it will remain just as you’re used to: by email, phone or post. We’ll remain just as accessible as you’ve come to expect from us.

As a client, do I need to take action now that the name, logo and corporate identity are changing?

No, you don’t need to do anything. You can still contact us via the same email addresses, and our website (vbk.nl), newsletters, registered name and bank account numbers will remain the same.
