About Matthijs 

Matthijs studied in Nijmegen, where he completed his master's degree in Business & Law with a dual-track program. During his master's programme, Matthijs conducted research into investor protection against incorrect or misleading information about crypto assets on online platforms. This focused on the European legislation MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation) and DSA (Digital Service Act). During his master's programme, Matthijs also worked as a student assistant for the Institute for Financial Law (IFR) at Radboud University.

Before Matthijs joined VBK as a lawyer, he worked for three years at the Amsterdam District Court as a senior court lawyer on civil law cases. In this role, he focused in particular on banking and securities law. As a result, Matthijs has extensive experience in assessing claims and judgments and translating these into procedural documents.

Matthijs also worked on corporate law, private international law and consumer law at the Amsterdam District Court.
