Gijs van Wijgerden

Gijs van Wijgerden has been CEO of VBK since October 2023. He joined the firm at the same time as the COO, Dave Venmans. Together with the Management Board, he is steering the firm’s growth ambitions in a rapidly changing environment. 

Gijs began his career at ING, where he held various roles. In these roles, the focus was often on a combination of establishing and implementing a long-term strategy, driving growth, transforming organisations, relialising commercial impact, fostering relationships, supporting staff development and developing (personal) leadership. On behalf of ING, he joined the board of Makelaarsland in 2018 and subsequently became a co-owner in 2021 through a management buy-out. 

Gijs believes that an organisation can only be successful if the customer (relationship) is a focus point and that authentic and inspiring leadership is essential in making a difference for both customers and employees.

In addition to his role as CEO, Gijs is chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ready for Change and remains involved with Makelaarsland, as a shareholder.
