Brexit: what did we get for Christmas?
30-12-2020
On 24 December 2020, following months of negotiations, the EU and the United Kingdom reached consensus on an extensive trade and cooperation agreement. The agreement contains rules covering trade, movement of persons and various areas of cooperation. It thus provides clarity on the way in which the United Kingdom and the EU will interact after 1 January 2021. That date saw an end to the transition period which had begun after the formal Brexit on 31 January 2020. The formal approval process is ongoing.
In a short contribution, our partner firm, Mills & Reeve, will outline what the Brexit deal means and what the implications are. Read the contribution here.
