Van Benthem & Keulen expands its expertise and capacity within the Corporate team with the arrival of lawyer-partner Christian Huiskes

Christian Huiskes joined Van Benthem & Keulen as a Corporate lawyer-partner on 1 January 2019. Christian previously worked as a partner at KienhuisHoving and before that at CMS. Christian’s focus is on Corporate Litigation. He advises on and litigates in, for example, disputes between shareholders/partners, issues concerning liability of directors and supervisory directors and takeover disputes. In addition, Christian is a so-called ‘Enterprise Section Officer’ who can be called in by the Enterprise Section as a researcher, director or manager of shares in inquiry cases. Christian previously obtained his doctorate on the subject of ‘the European company’.

Together with Sander Marges (Corporate Advice) and Steven Storm (M&A), he will further expand Van Benthem & Keulen’s Corporate practice and lead the team.

About his switch Christian Huiskes says: ‘Steven and I have known each other for a long time. We have previously worked together at CMS and also meet each other at TIAS School for Business and Society where we lecture in the Business Valuation master course on legal aspects related to the merger and acquisition process. So expanding this collaboration by switching to Van Benthem & Keulen was a logical step for me. Sander, Steven and I have the ambition to further profile the three focus areas within our corporate section – M&A, Corporate Advice and Corporate Litigation – in the market and to offer our clients in all these areas a high-quality specialist service that is one of the best the Netherlands.’
