Indexation of maintenance set at 2,5% for 2020

Under Section 1:402a of the Dutch Civil Code, the amounts set for maintenance payments by a court decision or by means of an agreement are automatically adjusted by a certain percentage each year with effect from 1 January.
With effect from 1 January 2020, the maintenance amounts will be automatically increased by 2.5%, unless the statutory indexation is excluded by means of an agreement or by a court decision.
This was announced by the Minister for Legal Protection, Mr S. Dekker, in a decision of 18 October 2019.
