I was admitted to the bar in 2007 in the Hague and have joined Van Benthem & Keulen in September 2015. I litigate over a wide range of disputes. Within the Banking & Finance practice group I act in financial disputes and advise on financing and liability risks. I also litigate in certain corporate and commercial disputes.
Before joining Van Benthem & Keulen I led an international
litigation practice as a senior associate at BarentsKrans. I acted
for (investment) banks, litigation funders and enterprises.
My practice focused on class actions and multi-jurisdictional claims (cartel damage claims, prospectus liability).
I have successfully completed the Grotius specialization courses Business and Liability (2010, with high honors) and Financing and Security (2014, with high honors) and speak fluent English.
I appear in court on behalf of banks, asset management companies
and enterprises on such matters as derivatives (such as interest
swaps), the cancellation of credit agreements, asset management,
investment advice and guarantees. The corporate and commercial
I handle generally have a financial or economic background.
I have a solid track record in conducting cross-border litigation proceedings on behalf of litigation funders and their backers (mostly large companies). As a result, I am very well practised in international private law, both Dutch and foreign liability and contract law and the effect of European law in these areas.
