Jacqueline  Broeren-Berns

I have been working in the company law practice since 2005. I began as a legal trainee at the law firm Banning N.V. and completed my traineeship with the law firm Allen & Overy LLP in Amsterdam. Here I specialised further in the mergers and acquisitions practice. I have been working at Van Benthem & Keulen since October 2009. I focus on assisting with mergers and acquisitions, company law and disputes between shareholders or disputes between shareholders and the management of a company. Further, I regularly advise on matters like shareholders agreements and joint ventures. In 2011 I successfully completed the specialist training course in Corporate and Business Law at the Grotius Academy.

I see achieving a particular end result that my client is satisfied with in every case as a challenge. I also prefer to approach cases from a pragmatic perspective. Good cooperation with the client and mutual trust are central to handling a case.

I advise clients in the following subareas:

  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Company law (Book 2 of the Dutch Civil Code and related issues such as co-determination and works councils)
  • Foundations and associations
  • Dispute regulations and right of inquiry
  • Corporate governance
  • Shareholder agreements
  • Participation agreements
  • Cooperation agreements
  • Partnerships (including general partnerships and limited partnerships)
  • Accounting law

  • Member of the Dutch Association for Corporate Litigation
