John Kopp

John Kopp studied at the University of Utrecht and has been an Attorney-at- Law since 1975. He is a partner in Van Benthem & Keulen and specializes in Employment Law. He provides a very specialised niche service within the realm of Employment Law in that his practice covers the legal status of the Statutory Directors of medium to large companies. A significant part of this process is the creation and execution of redundancy or severance packages carrying with it the necessity to be able to negotiate a successful pathway through the often-conflicting interests of a company and it’s executive board. John is also active in Health Law and brings his broad experience and specialist skills to bear on behalf of several hospitals, a large number of Health care institutions and the specialists working for them. He is often engaged to consider issues arising from or connected to the association or disassociation of a group of medical specialists, or engaged to mediate in conflicts between board members or within Health care institutions themselves. He is a certified mediator with the Nederlands Mediation Instituut (NMI) of Rotterdam and a standing arbitrator for the Nederlandse Arbitrage Instituut (NAI) also of Rotterdam. He has also published numerous articles on the subject of the legal position of statutory directors.
