Marcel Ruygvoorn

Marcel graduated from the University of Leiden in 1993. He spent 3 ½ years working as an inhouse counsel for the Dutch Royal Shell Group, before joining Van Benthem & Keulen in 1996. Marcel is a partner in Van Benthem & Keulen and is an Attorney-at-Law specialising in the fields of Contract Law and Liability Law. Within the field of Contract Law, Marcel advises on issues pertaining to Company Law such as: contracts for sale; distribution agreements and joint ventures. In the field of Liability Law Marcel specialises in arbitration both within the regular court and in an international context.
As a consequence of his being fluent in both English and German, Marcel has a full roster of International clients and regularly engages more.
Besides working for Van Benthem & Keulen, Marcel is a visiting lecturer at the University of Utrecht. He contributes to further education by means of a book which he wrote on the breakdown of negotiations, which has been published in 2006 as a monograph by Kluwer.
