Roelien Drent

Roelien Drent joined Van Benthem & Keulen’s Property Law and Administrative Law Section in June 2008. She advises on Property Law matters and is involved in the drafting of contracts, such as letters of intent, agreements to complete construction work, contracts for sale or purchase, or contracts governing the creation of joint venture concepts. Additionally, she deals with the legal issues and /or conflicts that sometimes arise before, during or after the completion of a construction project. She is also the right person to turn to with questions about the extension or reduction of construction periods, long lease, title to property or general terms and conditions.

Both as a practising Attorney and within the Construction Industry itself, Rolien is regarded as one of the foremost specialists in the Civil Law aspects of Construction Law.

Between 1999 and 2006, Roelien built up a wealth of experience as an Attorney both in the provision of advice and in litigation. Then in the middle of 2006, she decided to travel to South America and ended up in Peru, where she worked alongside the lawyers of the Defensoria de Pueblo (Public Ombudsmen).

Upon her return to the Netherlands she became the senior in house lawyer for a national construction project management/consultancy agency, which greatly enhanced the depth and breadth of her practical experience. She also regularly contributes articles on topical Construction Law issues for the Institute of Construction Law.
