Berghuis - Knijff, Laurien

Laurien Berghuis-Knijff graduated in Dutch Law from the University of Maastricht in 1999. She joined Van Benthem & Keulen’s Family Law department in 2000. Her practice covers many aspects of Family Law. She is skilled in providing her clients with expert advice and always seeks to find them the best possible solution through mediation and consultation, though she will not hesitate to resort to litigation where necessary. She is regularly appointed by the court to act as trustee in Inheritance cases and often acts in an advisory capacity to help the court develop the correct framework for a settlement.
Laurien is a member of the Association of Family Lawyers and Divorce Mediators (vFAS) and provides vocational training to trainee attorneys on the topic “Family Law and Mediation”. She is also responsible for the training and development of Van Benthem & Keulen’s Family Law interns.
