In the Netherlands the activities of asset managers, stockbrokers
and large organisations, which are active in the financial market,
are governed by various regulatory authorities, such as the Dutch
Authority for the Financial Markets (“Autoriteit Financiële
Markten” or “AFM”) and the Dutch Central Bank (“De Nederlandsche
Bank” or “DNB”).
Regulation performs the dual role of supervising the operations of
the financial institutions or asset managers, and the products
themselves. Like the markets, regulatory legislation is often
subject to rapid change. At Van Benthem & Keulen, our attorneys
are able to assist with any and all questions pertaining to this
legislation.
They are also on hand to assist with issues of leasing, licences
and/or the need for them and to be the point of contact with the
relevant regulatory authority.
